STREAM THE CENTURY PARK EDIT X MUSIC

L.A. DANCE PROJECT

June 2-4
12:30PM - 1:30PM
The Park

City of Dance is an ambitious, multi‑day initiative that will transform public spaces across Los Angeles. The project makes its debut in Century Park, which will become a stage for a series of free, site‑specific dance performances open to the public, giving audiences the chance to encounter movement in unexpected places, before continuing onto other sites across the city.

This hour‑long work is set to Philip Glass’s full score from the non‑narrative film Koyaanisqatsi (1982). Created by a collective of internationally renowned artists including Dimitri Chamblas, Benjamin Millepied, Jamar Roberts, Pam Tanowitz, and Madeline Hollander, City of Dance engages audiences with themes of modernity, speed, ecology, community, sustainability, and “life out of balance.”

DANTE ELEPHANTE

Thursday, August 13
5PM - 7PM
The Park

Ruben Zarate's musical project Dante Elephante began in 2010 as a surfy indie-rock venture, evolving into a soulful, disco-influenced sound by his 2018 album Rare Attractions and 2021's Mid-Century Modern Romance (produced with Paul Cherry). Since 2016, he's toured extensively across the US with major acts like Japanese Breakfast and Cold War Kids, while earning praise from outlets like KCRW, Brooklyn Vegan, and Consequence. His work has landed him performances at festivals including Lollapalooza, SXSW, and Treefort, and he's collaborated with notable producers including Foxygen's Jonathan Rado. Beyond his music, Zarate has hosted the Dante Elephante podcast since 2020, featuring in-depth conversations with acclaimed artists like Pavement's Bob Nastanovich and Foxygen members. Currently working on his fourth studio album, Zarate continues to push his creative boundaries in both music and podcast production.

PAST EVENTS

THE PHILHARMONIK

We were absolutely thrilled to host The Philharmonik at our property this past April 1st, marking the official kickoff of The Edit x Music series. This initiative represents our commitment to bringing vibrant culture and groundbreaking new music directly to our community, and we couldn't have asked for a more incredible inaugural performer.

A gifted multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and producer, The Philharmonik rose to national acclaim after winning the 2024 NPR Tiny Desk Contest with a soulful, genre-defying performance. Since that breakout moment, he has toured internationally, playing sold-out shows at legendary venues like Ronnie Scott’s in London and Blue Note clubs in Los Angeles, New York, and Tokyo. It was a privilege to host him so soon after the release of his highly anticipated new album, Transcendentalism, which arrived on March 20, 2026.
